Synopsis:

"When Detective Superintendent William Lorimer's wife, Maggie, publishes her first book, he is thrilled for her. But joy soon turns to fear when a mysterious stranger starts following Maggie on her publicity tour.

Meanwhile, Lorimer and the MIT are on the search for the murderer of two young women, but can Lorimer catch the killer and track down Maggie's stalker at the same time...?"

General Opinion:

I borrowed this book from my best friend and I had a wonderful time reading it! At first, I thought they had made a movie out of it (As there are so many of them about stalking I kinda lose track haha!) But the further along I read, the more I realized that I had never heard of that story. I liked the way the author wrote the book, it is easy to read and I have learned some little Scottish words, which made it more entertaining.

I feel that this book had a pretty good intrigue, and the storyline was interesting. However, I would have loved to see more 'details' of the stalker, how he became a stalker (we did have an insight, but I would have loved a small part on him.) In itself, the suspense was really good and until the end, I was really wondering if the stalker was going to get caught. And then suddenly, Maggie gets snatched, and I got scared. Like No Maggie, no!

Now, let's get on with the positive and negative points.

Positive Points:

  • The story is authentic, compelling, and suspenseful.

  • I really like the principal character, Margaret Lorimer, and her husband.

  • The Scottish landscape seems absolutely gorgeous. (I plan on traveling there!)

  • The story is easy to read and it is not too long.

  • I enjoy how you see the thoughts of Margaret and her husband.

  • I also like how we instantly get in the head of the stalker.

Negative Points:

  • I wish there were more 'action' or a little bit more insight into the stalker.

  • The stalker is a bit sloppy as he gets caught quite quickly!

Do I Recommend it?

Yes definitely! The book is very good, and I have enjoyed the storyline! If you typically enjoy a story about stalking and/or a bit of suspense, I enthusiastically recommend it! It was entertaining and interesting!

Thank you Alex Gray for such a good read!
